Riders Camp

General Information

Riders Camp is a great place to pitch the tent or park the RV when you are wheeling in the Manastash area because it is so close to the trails. This is dry camping so you have to bring everything with you that you are going to need including water. There are a couple of vault toilets if you need them but you might want to bring TP just in case they are out. The best thing about Riders Camp is that it is close to the trails. The worst thing about Riders Camp is that it is 25 miles from town and 10 of those miles are gravel road that is sometimes very slow to traverse. Be sure to bring your NW Forest Pass or you will need to pay $5 a day to camp in this location.

Directions

Make your way to Ellensburg and fill up on groceries and fuel before you head out because it takes a while to get back if you forget something.  From Canyon Road turn West onto Umptanum Road and follow it around until you get to Manastash Road. Turn right on Manastash Road and just keep driving. Manastash Road will turn into gravel and become National Forest Service Road 31 (NF31). Keep following this road for about 10 more miles until you get to Riders Camp.
