Liberty

General Information

The Liberty area resides in the Wenatchee National Forest and the trail system in the area is managed by the USFS. The town of Liberty which is just up the road for the camping area is a very small town that is known mostly for it history of gold mining. There are no stores in the town so if you need supplies you need to get them in Cle Elum which is about 14 miles away. The trail system sprawls through out the area and there are some parts which are subject to seasonal closure. Generally the larger vehicles will be able to do fine but NW Pin Stripping is pretty much a guarantee (brush marks on paint).

The camping area does not require a pass at this time but that may change so it is best to check before you go if your intention is to camp. The area is a first serve bases and there are fire rings as well as vault toilets so dry camping is the only option.
