I – like Darren Rabago – will have to cop to having a near and dear place in my heart for my long tenure in attending Operation Shore Patrol over many years. Starting my 2nd year in the Tamers – which means that was about 1998 when I started “wheeling” (oh is that what I thought it was?) a 1982 J-10 Jeep pickup (too big, too pretty….)

Clam Shack Build Oct 2019

For the past few years Operation Shore Patrol has been held at the Tidelands Campground in Copalis Beach WA. Dave, the owner of the campground has been really good to us and accommodating our group to the point of breaking some of the campground rules that are normally in force. So it was when Dave asked if there was any way he could get some help with building a new clam shack for guests there were several people from the Rainer Ridge Rams and the Timber Tamers that said they would be happy too. A date was set for Oct 12th when everyone would converge on the campground.

Operation Shore Patrol Sep 2019

Keep in mind – it’s the trip, it’s the beach, it’s the friends, it’s the shared meal, it’s helping make the beach a cleaner place, it’s the jokes, it’s the fun, it’s the leg-pulling, the sound of engines, the heritage of wheelers being wheelers together – Operation Shore Patrol is overall – THE EXPERIENCE!

Operation Shore Patrol Sep 2017

It’s Sunday evening post OSP – and Lola – tuckered out from her atypical weekend away from home – has put herself to bed (or actually under the bed) 2 hours early. She and her brother Kona spent a weekend with their mistress and me at Operation Shore Patrol. Being forced to spend time on the hard ground or on a lead, and not lounging on the couch as might have been the case at home all weekend – I’m sure they’d think of reporting us to the ASPCA – if only they had the opposable thumbs to manage it. Operation Shore Patrol Sep 2009

The Tamers participated in 38th Annual Operation Shore Patrol which is organized the Pacific Northwest Four Wheel Drive Association. Event participants meeting at various beaches and spend the weekend volunteering there time and resources to clean up the beaches.
