Labor Day Weekend Sep 2006

I got off work early on Friday afternoon and headed home to get my gear and pack the Jeep. A short stop to deliver some flowers to the wife at her work on the way out of town, (that is how the pro’s do it) and I was headed to Evans Creek ORV park. Continue reading “Labor Day Weekend Sep 2006”

Liberty Aug 2006

Another wonderful wheeling weekend with the Tamers at Liberty. Ruth and I met up with Ed at his place in Renton on Saturday morning. We hitched up “Kermit” to his motor home and headed off for the trail. We arrive at about 11 to see that a small group of Tamers had been there overnight and secured us a good sized area for some quality camping. Continue reading “Liberty Aug 2006”

Fathers Day Run Jun 2006

Fathers day at Elbe (#9). A tamer tradition or so I am told. This year, my Jeep didn’t make it. I broke the front Detroit the previous weekend and even though Tom Baker and I worked feverishly to get it ready, it was not to be. A quick call to a friendly wheeler (XJ Mike) and I had a seat for the weekend. Continue reading “Fathers Day Run Jun 2006”

Memorial Day Weekend May 2006

Was a fine weekend wheeling with the Tamers. This being my first trip to Buck Meadows, I didn’t know what to expect. Ruth and I met up with Ann T. on hwy 90 and we all got to riders camp about 10PM, set up camp and met our weekend neighbors. Turned out that Billy knew some dirtbike guys that decided to camp with us, so there were many cool campfire stories from 2 different sides of the wheeling world. Red Eye Nov 2005

After that temp repair was done, I went back into my rig and started driving along. I hit a patch of ice, and slid sideways off the trail. I had two down trees behind my rear tailgate, and one stump in front of my front diff. I stepped out and took a look at my situation, and put a plan together. I then CB’d ahead, to let others know that I was going to be delayed. I felt really bad about this, as I didn’t want to hold people up like I did last year.

Operation Shore Patrol Sep 2005

On Vacation this year, there was one thing I DID feel compelled to do – and that was to cruise up and down the beach in Moosenstein – getting a little quality time in with my Jeep , while letting what was left of my brain otherwise flow out of my ears. I thought it would be very nice.
