Fathers Day Run Jun 2006

Fathers day at Elbe (#9). A tamer tradition or so I am told. This year, my Jeep didn’t make it. I broke the front Detroit the previous weekend and even though Tom Baker and I worked feverishly to get it ready, it was not to be. A quick call to a friendly wheeler (XJ Mike) and I had a seat for the weekend. Continue reading “Fathers Day Run Jun 2006”

Memorial Day Weekend May 2006

Was a fine weekend wheeling with the Tamers. This being my first trip to Buck Meadows, I didn’t know what to expect. Ruth and I met up with Ann T. on hwy 90 and we all got to riders camp about 10PM, set up camp and met our weekend neighbors. Turned out that Billy knew some dirtbike guys that decided to camp with us, so there were many cool campfire stories from 2 different sides of the wheeling world. Red Eye Nov 2005

After that temp repair was done, I went back into my rig and started driving along. I hit a patch of ice, and slid sideways off the trail. Tech Course Trail Build Jun 2005

Ah – derring do and diabolical diversions marked the Timber Tamer stamp on the Tech Course preparations for the PNW Summer Convention in August. We are charged with making and running the Tech Course – and since last weekend – we are halfway there. Continue reading “Tech Course Trail Build Jun 2005”

Fathers Day Jun 2005

Going to Elbe for the Father’s Day weekend (as we have for about 8 years now) is like visiting an old friend you haven’t seen in a while. Of course – this would be a friend who delights in giving you a noogie! Because while this is just about as fun as wheeling can get, it is rare a visit to Elbe doesn’t leave you a few reminders of your trip to bring home with you. Continue reading “Fathers Day Jun 2005”

Rimrock Memorial Day Weekend May 2005

For those of you that have not had the pleasure of playing at Rimrock, you should go sometime just so you can say you did. even if you never go back …

There are major hills there and the trails go either straight up, straight down, or side hill on the steepest parts. Spectacular views though. 🙂 Continue reading “Rimrock Memorial Day Weekend May 2005”
