Its Only Tahuya Mar 2012

3/24/2012

Tahuya is the Rodney Dangerfield of trail runs because – “It don’t get no respect.”  It is rumored that some Tamers even passed up the run because (let’s say it together, class) “There is no challenge there  – It’s JUST Tahuya.” Continue reading “Its Only Tahuya Mar 2012”

March Madness Event 4WP Mar 2012

If there was anything truly mad about the Run to the Lynnwood 4 Wheel Parts “March Madness” day – it could either have been that it was trying to snow as I made my way up to Lynnwood – or possibly that we had a very nice contingent of Tamers facing the cold and drizzle.  We are wheelers, after all – but let’s have a show of hands for everyone who is ready to enjoy as little warm, sunny wheeling.  (Yep – I see you all out there ready to turn the butt-heaters off, if only the weather would cooperate.)  Continue reading “March Madness Event 4WP Mar 2012”

Fathers Day Weekend At Liberty Jun 2011

Well the original plan was to camp at Liberty and then run over to Manashtash to clear the Divide Trail for the Forest Service but due to circumstances beyond our control the plan was scrapped and we just ended up running trail at Liberty. Continue reading “Fathers Day Weekend At Liberty Jun 2011”

Memorial Day Weekend at Tillamook May 2011

Memorial Day Weekend in the Tillamook Forest.
A BSOTBAF kinda weekend!

Yep.  A number of meetings ago – John Lane made an eloquent appeal that Tamers just weren’t getting out enough to enjoy each other’s company and go wheeling together.  Between the economy beating up our wallets, and a general almost-weeniness about it being too cold, wet, crappy – or just a little too much work to go wheeling for a weekend – it sure seemed like he had a point. A Wedding. The Timber Tamers Wedding Run Feb 2011

It’s getting to be a few weeks ago now that a well-wishing band of Tamers took a little trip down to Tacoma to witness the vows of one of our own.  Terry Crawford took the vows of matrimony with his lovely bride Susan Pierce. Continue reading “A Wedding. The Timber Tamers Wedding Run Feb 2011”

Labor Day Weekend at Liberty Sep 2010

Been a while since the Tamers have done a late summer run at Liberty and it turned out to be a nice weekend to make up for that. We even got to have a campfire due to the soaking that east side got in the days before. Glad I brought the chainsaw after all. Continue reading “Labor Day Weekend at Liberty Sep 2010”

Doe Run on the Naches Trail Jul 2010

Doe Run 2010 – An Historical Journey
So – was that historical, or hysterical? Well – there was some hysteria reported – but first – a little history lesson. What is so incredibly cool about heading up over the Naches Trail for the Doe Run – is that in some ways, we commemorate some people who apparently were made of much stronger stuff than even we are. It was 1853 – even before the Civil War – that settlers were pushing their way out east to west – to find a place to call home. Continue reading “Doe Run on the Naches Trail Jul 2010”
