Pick Up a Mountain – 9/16/2023

I’m not sure anyone else is writing this up, so I thought I’d throw something out there…

Pick Up a Mountain last weekend was a blast. Tamers in attendance included Tammy and I, Jeremy and Noni, Rudi and Melissa, John, Antoine, Michael, Eric, Nate, Joe, Terry and Pam. Also in attendance were candidates David and Patty plus Ethan and Tom from NWD Off-road and Performance. Quite the group!

Operation Shore Patrol – 9/16/2023

OSP 2023!

I – like Darren Rabago – will have to cop to having a near and dear place in my heart for my long tenure in attending Operation Shore Patrol over many years. Starting my 2nd year in the Tamers – which means that was about 1998 when I started “wheeling†(oh is that what I thought it was?) a 1982 J-10 Jeep pickup (too big, too pretty….)

Mountain Loop Clean-up 9/9/2023

Showed up early at the Verlot Ranger Station, right around 8AM. If you want to beat Joe, you have to be there a half hour to an hour early. LOL! Ranger Jon came over to make sure we had all we needed and to let us know that between Coal Creek and Deer Creek could use some attention due to the amount of people from the previous weekend and to thank us for the help. By 9 am we ended up having 12 people total.

Reiter – 6/17/2023

Quick trip to Reiter on a drizzly day was fantastic. With Tamer Chris in Stomper, Dave F. in his Khaki LJ, and two others also in Khaki LJ’s we proceeded to wander through Driveway, up Axle Alley, Up Lovers Lane, Down StairStep, Down Twizzler, and finish out on Boulder Alley.

Stampede Pass – 5/20/2023

Journal entry 5/20/23

Oh, what a triumph of our recent club expedition has turned out to be! As the illustrious leader of the run, I recount the events of our fateful journey, blissfully unaware of my own lack of expertise, while the rest of the group gallantly steered our way to glory.

Hefty Haul Out April 4, 2023

Clubs and users unite together showed up on Saturday April 15th for the annual Hefty Haul Out hosted by Region One’s Rainier Ridge Rams 4×4 Club at the Walker Valley ORV Park in Skagit County. We met at the lower gravel pit as base camp following ever so strategically placed RRR direction signs.

Cabin Fever April 14, 2023

This is a must do event.  The people are friendly, the Trails are fun and the raffle is good.  Cabin Fever takes place in the Northern Idaho town of Kellog. We booked a hotel at the Silver Valley hotel which has reasonable rates.  We have actually stayed there before.  Dan from the Tamers and I changed a cam positioning sensor in the back parking lot.  Not a fun project on a trip but thanks to Dan we knocked it out fast.   Thankfully no Engine code of death for this trip.

Sadie Creek 3/18/2023

So we decided to call this a club run even though there were just the two vehicles. Jeremy and Noni in their CJ7 and Tammy and Dave in our LJ all camped at or near Sadie Creek for the weekend and though the club was invited seems like no one else could make it which was too bad.

Walker Valley March 18, 2023

A good day of sunshine and wheeling. There was 6 of us all together including Chad with his Dad, Antoine in a JLU, Dean in his JKU, and Nate is his JK on 40’s. After introductions, and a quick driver meeting, we headed off to the south entrance gate keeper.
